Heater controls - Puzzled..
Discussion
So I have an S3 with the recessed 'slider' type heater control.
Odd thing is, that cold is hot and hot is cold - No problem really with that, it's all part of the TVR experience.
But having had the dash out recently. I've been puzzling why this is. I'd always thought that this was because the heater valve (which are prone to leaking) had been changed and the 'original' VW golf type where the operating vane is perpendicular to the water flow would have operated the other way round. But having bought one, it's exactly the same.
Did TVR really get away with selling new cars to owners with heater controls labelled back to front, or is there some clever explanation that I just can't fathom?

Hi All, likewise after purchasing a number of valves which looked the same (even from the TVR shop) they were all working the wrong way round so I eventually bought a brass valve from T7 design which required a slightly longer cable but actually shuts off the water flow conpletely !!
