8 spoke OZ Wheel
Discussion
When in good condition the S wheels look great unfortunately its not a very robust finish. I have already had mine diamond cut and re-lacquered a few years back and they are going manky again. I am reluctant to get them diamond cut again, apart from not wanting to go through the same cycle every few years it must weaken the wheel when re-cutting.
I have see ones with the wheels silver powder coated which look OK, others who have striped the lacquer and keep the wheels polished. Has anyone else tried something different

I went to get mine diamond cut again but the quality of the aluminium just wasn't up to it - still marked.
So my local guy agreed to powder coat them and get the black bits painted in (very important on this type of wheel in my opinion) at the same cost as originally quoted for diamond cutting (£90 inc VAT).
In the end he has to get a specialist painting company to mask and paint the black parts and made a loss on it - next time he would charge around £200 per wheel!.
not as shiny as polished finish but probably more durable

Does the Powder Coat add much weight? .................. that was a worry, but I decided that the smoother surface finish than the rough old corrosion would reduce drag and so equal it out in terms of performance...
