Hi All,

I'm in the process or ripping a faulty immobiliser out of the S3. The offending article is a Cobra 0802T and it has been inserted into the wiring alongside a couple of relays. Both the relays are in holders that are hanging separately from the wiring loom. They are not situated in the fuse box. The first one is a yellow relay in a yellow holder and the second is a red relay in a red holder. They are both marked as Ford 77180 40 amp relays.

Tracing the wiring and comparing it with the S3 wiring diagram I have identified the yellow relay as the Fuel Pump Relay.

Does anyone know what the red one is? I think it must be the fuel injection relay but this should have an associated diode that I can't see.

When the immobilser is activated I can still turn over the engine on the starter but the fuel pump doesn't run. So I know one of the immobiliser circuits is interfering with the yellow fuel pump relay. The second immobiliser circuit is interfering with this red relay?

Thanks..Ralph

Thanks All.

All sorted now. Had to trace all the wires and draw it all in a big diagram. Then compared everything to the wiring diagram in Steve Heaths book to work it all out. Car starts now and the immobiliser is in the bin..!!

I guess I'll need to tell the insurance company that it no longer has an immobiliser.
