Hi all , removed the plenum to replace the gaskets and on looking at the fuel rail it seems to have identical gaskets underneath mating to the inlet manifold (S3 cast fuel rail.)
My question is , reading the sierra Haynes manual it doesn't mention them , although it DOES mention the plenum gaskets, and the pictures don't seem to show them . Surely the fuel rail doesn't bolt directly to the inlet manifold, or does it ?
I've made lots of gaskets today , plenty if I need to "gasket sandwich " the fuel rail .
Any ideas / help welcome.

Yes, there should be gaskets both sides. Many gasket kits only have enough for one side which is fine if you have the steel fuel rail.

Hi all ....removing the fuel rail ...does anyone know how to remove this coupling or what special tool I need ?
Don't want to attack it with pliers really .....

It's a push fit coupling, or otherwise known as a John Guest fitting.

the red ring unclips then you push the bit insde up, into the fitting. Same as fittings used on plumbing these days

Google "removing push fit coupling" if (there's no if about it) my description makes no sense.

Thanks for the replies chaps , I didn't realise that the red ring came off !! I assume it just unclips down from the base of the coupling.
I'll also pick up one of those tools .
Cheers once again.
