Passenger side door has stopped opening fron inside, with reference to Steve Heath manual, I have started the process of removal of inner door panel. Speaker off, and then went to find arm rest connection inside door panel which I believe is this......

Unfortunately I don’t have correct tool to loosen the nut, which I can sort. Question is, will this release the door panel once and for all and what is it that I am likely looking for to repair the none functioning door handle? For info the door opens fine from the outside.

It should do. When you put it all back together I'd suggest you use wing nuts instead of tose silly little nuts. Is that your blood all over the inside of the door? laugh

There is a little plastic clip on the lock mechanism which is prone to breaking. This might be the problem. Or it might just be the cable & hook which has slipped.

hehe just might be!

Thanks, will the mechanism issues be fairly obvious once the panel is off? How easy is the fix?

If it's a ridiculously unnecessarily long bolt which is covered in resin, that sounds like the one.

My S1 had a 7/16 inch AF nut on one side and a 10mm AF nut on the other. Typical TVR! Fortunately I had ratchet spanners in both sizes.

Looking at the picture there seems to be 2 the same, the one surrounded by my blood smile, and one in the foreground. Do I need to release both or just the one nearest the door hinge end?

It's been a while since I had to go in there but I seem to remember there was one accessed by the speaker opening and another accessed through the ashtray opening.

the very long one with a nut and panel washer on needs to come off, M5 so 8mm spanner or socket

the one nearer in your photo is holding the arm rest to the door card, not the door card to the door. What are the other two, to the left of the window channel, holding?

The interior door opening handle is linked to the mechanism by a piece od bent wire, prone to snapping. Replace with a new piece of bent wire or some have done fancy things with bycycle brake cables and similar.

Here's an old post with a link to another old post

Or is it M4, 7mm spanner scratchchin door card removal

The other 2 are at the hinged end of the door so assume something connected to mech connecting door to body? It was a shot with a camera phone through the speaker gap, so only noticed after taking picture.

door pull from door lock to inside door hand handle fastened to panel. Stiff wire hooked to the lock mechanism. Unhook from lock.

I see Philpott has linked to my brief moment of fame, it can be a bugger to adjust right if you have to replace the wire. This simple mod uses the old wire but provides easy adjustment. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
