Just been reading a post on Facebook regarding cooling fans (well, cooling fan motors to be precise!).
I have been considering getting my radiator refurbished in an attempt to resolve my cooling problem (cooling system seems to be at its limit as it struggles when stuck in traffic on a warm day after a decent drive.)
I am assuming the issue is a tired radiator as water pump is quite new and cooling fan now comes on when required (having sorted the dodgy wiring and relay). However, the Facebook post has now made me consider whether my cooling fan, although working, is actually the problem. Also, it is considerably less expensive to replace the fan than refurbish the rad that may be working as it should.
So, can I ask who has swapped their fan? Did it resolve your heating issue? Which fan did you buy? , as I can get a 14 inch fan with installation kit for just 30 quid from Amazon.
If I'm going to swap it, just want to know I am getting a decent one,
Thanks in advance.

The problem is more likely to be your radiator. If it the original one then it's probably full of crap that's built up over the years. A re-core costs about £220 down here in the rip-off south and less the further away from London you are.

If the fan is spinning at full tilt an is quiet then it's working fine.
