Corrado mirrors
Discussion
They work on the bench, just the little matter of fitting them !
Found a wiring diagram "somewhere" while search around old PH posts, pretty sure it was courtesy of Steve @ Southways
unlike the "rubber band" mirrors used on later S's and Griffs/Chims these use a single motor and a clutch to acheive movement in two planes, no relay required.
I believe the heating elements on normal cars are switched with the heated rear screen? Guess just an ignition live would do, no harm having them on constant?

How are you mounting them ? I've had a pair in a box for a few years but never worked out how to make an adapter to get them to sit properly.
I've seen them mounted on vw vans etc with a spacer, the later tvr 'T' cars have a similar extension. I think they'd suit the S series really well.

Oh, and I had a hell of a game with the wiring because the Corrados have 5 wires and the Citroen mirrors 4 wires.
These ones only have four if you ignore heating elements, all wired up and working (on the bench) following the wiring diagram posted on this thread by Steve DQBee said:
Fibreon sell adaptors for the Chimaera.
saw those on the same thread but I don't currently have "Chimaera" mirrors Edited by phillpot on Monday 11th February 09:57
The adapters made by fibreon are only any good to replace the Citroen mirrors. No good for the early mirrors. Someone did a full feature on that a few years ago and I think they also published how they adapted the wiring. The earlier cars didn't have electric mirrors so no need to try and mate old wiring to the new mirrors as you have to start from scratch !
If you tried to bolt the corrado mirrors straight to the door without some sort of adapter they would be too low to see and they'd be hanging down over.
Looking closely at the later T cars, they use an extension piece. If a source for them could be found I'm sure that they could be customised to fit the s series.
