I've just done my S1 project using black silicone and Mikalor clamps so that gets my thumbs up also.
I think I needed half a metre of straight 35mm and two 45 degree elbows in 35mm which cost £60 in total, plus about £15 for the clamps, so not hideously expensive.
Nobody offered S1 kits and plain rubber was only slightly cheaper. I would suggest getting the Mikalor clamps as they appear to have much greater mechanical grip than Jubilee clips on what seems quite a slippery material.

Either buy as a complete kit
Or you may save a few bob by trying to put together from individual hoses
That can be tricky though because, from memory, there are two or three that are different diameters at each end ....
