So, sadly the TVR has been SORN'd all summer as I have had no time to tinker.
Finally got a replacement Starter Motor, put the battery on charge over night and hey presto, it lives!
So, now back to the original reason I actually removed the bonnet many months ago, to check the cooling system.
Tried some rad flush, but it looks like my cooling system was clean, so just wasted all my anti-freeze.
Ran the car upto normal temperature whilst on ramps, and the cooling fan comes on. It stayed on for 15 mins before cutting out. Was expecting it to switch off a bit quicker as there is no bonnet to trap heat and it is only 13 deg outside today.
Anyway, there are no leaks, and radiator looks relatively ok, so now that summer is over, I am reluctant to pay £200 for a radiator overhaul.
I guess I'll just buy some anti-freeze and have a go at getting the bonnet re-aligned.
So, I guess it's time to tax it again!!

Where did the summer go!!!

15 mins for the fan to lower the temp is excessive should be closer to 5. How long does it take from the point that the fans stop to when called for again?

Magpies, I didn't wait for fan to come on again, didn't think of that.
Have now taken rad out and flush through with garden hose, but no idea if anything is blocked inside as water comes out anyway.
Going to my brother in laws to use his compressed air gun to get any dead bugs out, but I don't see what else I can do to test the efficiency which means I could just replace it with no improvement!?
Any ideas?

Thanks

What coolant temperature is the fan trying to control to? This will make a huge difference to the fan duty cycle.

Can't remember the temp off hand, but the needle is perfectly horizontal (ie smack in the middle).
This has always been the temp that car runs at when fully warmed up.
