anodised rocker covers

hi all!
Im going to be replacing all my coolant hoses for shiny silicon ones. At the same time im going to change the rocker cover gaskets (due to small oil leak). Just wondering if anyone has/or knows where to get shiny matching rocker covers. Im thinking anodised blue with blue hoses.

I painted mine with blue engine lacquer

I stripped mine back to bare metal, gave them a severe polishing, then lacquered them. Put a bit of effort into it man!



The pic was taken before they were lacquered, that's just the bare metal. I haven't put them on the car yet - I'm going to polish up the alternator at the same time.

mr git! how did you get them to shine so much? machine or your right hand?

mainly machine with a selection of mops and polishes.

John, anodising is a finishing process for aluminium, the rocker covers are made from pressed steel, so you can paint, or chrome plate, to chrome plate you would first need them polished like mr git`s.

Very nice! show us when you have finished and fitted them, it gives me ideas for my S2, it needs a bit of TLC cosmetically under the bonnet

I don't think I'll get round to fitting them until next week, I'm just too busy. I'll post a pic though.
