TVR S2 New listing Ebay
Discussion
Looks good, including the chassis if the pics are a reliable guide. Do we know the car ?
On the basis of caveat emptor, the Ebay advertiser ("Simon") doesn't specify the mileage, but it shows up on Cazana as 115,000 at May this year, having reached the 100K miles mark eleven years ago. So apparently a lot of earlier usage, but not a lot in recent times. The ad states the registration date as 07/01/1970 ? (so a very very early one.....). The MoT history shows no advisories, but hopefully any routine work will have been done diligently over the years. Similarly the Ebay ad shows no previous owners, but does that seem likely ?
The seller doesn't have any related feedback, but Google his phone number and he shows up in "Classic American" mag April 2016, selling a 4.0 Mustang. Although the S2 looks to be a private sale, check his other items and for them it says "Our ref....We do not offer collection....We accept the following methods of payment...." so do we think this is a dealer sale ? After all he is selling boxed sets of "Wheeler Dealers" DVD's.....
And finally.....payment terms are "via Bank transfer or cash on collection", so no redress if anything goes wrong with the deal.

Fairly normal for a private sale, you pays yer money and take it away!Link to ad
True, but sometimes there seems to be a slight whiff of fishiness. Have a look at that ad in detail and it shows the high bidder (as of yesterday) is now "No longer registered with Ebay" which is their code for that person having been suspended for whatever reason (but usually having been rumbled for what is known as "shill bidding", bidding-up an item for a buddy). That bidder's 30-Day bid history is/was:
Total bids: 375
Items bid on: 275
Bid retractions: 38

It does say this in the ad ..."Any bids I receive where I haven't spoken to you first will be removed. Please think before you bid."
Maybe the seller removed the bid ?
