Hi

As the subject says how do you get into the boot off a V8S. OK I know you press the button under the dash. But that only works if there is a battery on the car. Well my car had its battery removed for replacement, and by chance then somebody closed the boot lid err err!
Now on a Wedge, Chim and Cerbera I now the secret way in, but a V8S is new to me.

So can anybody Please e-mail/message me direct with the answer if there is one..

The other thing the reason why the battery was being replaced was so the car can be used for a charity event this weekend, so no pressure here!

Get hold of a spare 12V battery and jump leads.
Open the bonnet.
Connect the negative jumper cable between the spare battery and any convenient ground on the engine.
Connect the positive jumper cable to the donor battery and hold the live end.
Stand outside the car where you can reach the ignition switch and alternator.
Switch the ignition on and hold the boot release button down.
Touch the positive cable to the main power stud on the alternator, being careful not to allow it to short onto anything else.
The boot will open.

What do you keep in your boot? Nothing in mine .............. other than the spare wheel, a set of spanners and a battery.

There may be people who do on occasion have to leave stuff in the boot, so probably still best if the low life are not aware.

& it would be annoying to come and find your battery had been taken (happened to a friend of mine many moons ago - from a mini and he never locked the boot as there was never anything of value left in there).

While I fully agree that it's not a good idea to share "secret access methods" on an open forum is any thieving oik likely to go to the trouble of using that method when the fibreglass bootlid could be pried or ripped open in seconds? ..... scratchchin

Hi Pete

Thanks for your idea, that was our last resort idea, but we have got it open via the standard TVR way off getting into the boot.
