cat V8S tacho signal from where?

Anyone know where the tacho takes its ignition signal from? Presumably it's either the coil, amplifier module or ECU. Anyone followed it through? V8S with cats, which probably matters.

white wire with black tracer off the coil. well it is on mine .. but you know TVR ..
