Ok, the starter battery went flat on my S3 and installing a new one causes that crappy cobra 6422 system to do anything but what it should.
Either the alarm indicator stays off all the time while still cutting off fuelpump and starter (like 96% of all tries)... after letting power drain from the system for a full day, I got the light to at least light up permanently... but that's it. Not responding to key fob or emergency stick or reprogramming procedures.
Then yesterday, after reconnecting the battery again after a full day of draining, suddenly the light was blinking and I was able to disarm it and drive. Over night, same scenario... light is off... alarm not responding to anything.
Sometimes, after reconnecting the battery, the alarm-lamp blinks for a few seconds... then goes on permanently.. or the light is permanently on by default... without being able to disarm.
I know, the cobra alarms are crap and should be exchanged.... but that's is no option, as the car actually is sold... but only, if the car is startable.

What I need to know is, where do I find the immobilizer module (not the alarm main unit under the dash) for cutting/splicing some wires... or is there a special procedure installing a new car battery to not make the alarm system to stall?

Thanks

The installations I've seen were both spliced in to the loom near the column. If that was me I'd try to locate the splices and simply reinstate the original direct connection. I had plenty of slack in the loom to do that just by cutting and joining the original wires - YMMV.
