Hi

I am hoping to go and view an S2 at the weekend. Does anyone know of a good company who will do an ispection for a reasonable price or is there anyone that knows what I should be looking for?

Thanks

Pies

Hi Pies,

You might as well take me off the Inspection services list now I'm afraid.. Since landing a new IT contract I've had to get back to a "normal job" for the time being.

Cheers
Matt

I had an inspection done by Peninsula when I bought my V8S. Perhaps you know a local dealer willing to give you a report on the car. Admittedly my inspection cost £100 less because it was in for an MOT at the same time.

A previous owner had an inspection by Rob Ingleby and the report is quite exhaustive.

I used the AA when I bought mine around 2 years ago. They weren't cheap (can't remember how much) but they did do a thorough inspection and produced a report recommending various actions. Although the guy who did the inspection was not a TVR expert, he did know his stuff. A good service all round really.

Go to your local TVRCC meet and ask there. Anything for a good day out and a Hoon!

Louise,

It may be useful to inform on the area that the vehicle will be in. There may be members willing to assist but unwilling to offer as you may be some distance away.

Obviously a proffesional inspection is best but many members of this site have experience of the general faults on the 'S' range and may be happy to assist if you can't arrange anything in time.

If you and the owner can get the car to near Guildford then David Batty at "The Garage" is well respected and reasonably priced for inspections.

Thank you all for your replies. Unfortunatley the S Series I was looking at was sold on Friday afternoon before I could get a look at it.

I will bear in mind all your comments for when I see another S series that I would like.

Oatz's car is worth consideration at that price (IMHO)...

Seems someone else is after a quick sale - www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=39527&sc=UPDX&s=4 - usual caveat applies, that I don't know the car or seller etc etc...

Thank you for the links to the classifieds. I have been watching the cars. I am looking for something that is not red, no offence meant but I am not a fan of red cars and for around £5000. I do like the racing green car that went up today but it is a bit more than I was planning on paying.

Thanks

Louise, if you find a car fairly locally and want a hand having a look over it, feel free to give me a shout as I'm 20 minutes from Worcester (I note you're in West Mids)

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi Matt

Thank you for the offer, that is great. Yes I am in Rubery, on the out skirts of Birmingham or two minutes from Bromsgrove.
