Yes they are expensive, and very hard to get if you want the originals which were a Leyland DAF part or even one of the recently made copies. When I had my S a few years ago I managed to pick up some 2nd hand replacements for about £40 each, but I am aware some have sold for £70 plus. I did speak to a TVR parts supplier at the TVR CC Event at Burghley a few years ago who had some new old stock of indicators, but they wanted almost £100 each.

When I removed one of my broken indicators, it still had a price sticker on the back for 92p. Not sure what 92p invested in a bank in 1991 would be worth now?

If your indicators are broken, there are alternatives available including a KIA and BMW indicator that fit the gap, including a replacement part from ML Performance, but none unfortunately have the original look with the bevel that overlaps the rubber bumper strip.

ohhhh, welcome to the world of S ownership...this is the most sort after part for the S series as the sherpa vans and most old stock is not available any more. I think TVR parts does repros now. Alternatively google some Pistonheads discussion on it for the cheaper alternatives, from a BMW E - something, of Kia Pride Mk 2 ,i think. My Kia ones dont have the lip (ie the bit that is structurally incorrect and so always breaks), but were a bargin at less than a tenner brand new for a pair...

Good luck wink

Unless you are really committed to originality I wouldnt even try to buy 'originals'. TVR used what were available at the time, which doesnt necessarily mena there are not better options now!

This question will take you to a wonderful source of knowledge!
Open the forum again and go to the Wiki's at the top, one of them is 'Useful Links', go down a few and you will come to 'NEW Alternatives Parts List 2016'. Indicators are item 129-33 and this not only gives alternatives but also the forum discussions on which options there are and how to use them.

You will find it worthwhile going through that 2016 list to find out what we know about sourcing parts, there is a great deal of acquired knowledge and experience there.

I had damaged originals and swapped the lenses to BMW E30 but a later problem with the housing resulted in me swapping to Nissan Terrano 93-96 models. They do fit as a complete unit really well. Dont worry about left or right hand, either will fit either side on the TVR. The lens can be fitted either way up so just make sure you fit the lens the way up you need it.

Even then supply isnt that easy and I kept a search up on ebay until I had acquired some spare sets as well. I did notice a couple on ebay, example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-TERRANO-Passenger...

Hope that helps.

I suggest to get some Kia lens covers, they're cheap and cheerful. I paid just a few pounds each for mine.

In case anyone hasn't seen them, geert has the re-manufactured items for sale on Ebay :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284274027913?hash=item4...

If that link no longer works, do an advanced search for seller geertvanhout . He also has several more re-manufactured old TVR parts.

When adding up the total, remember that we'll now be paying 20% import VAT from Europe on the cost plus the postage. If I've done the maths right, it comes to about £284 for a pair, delivered. Not cheap, but where else will you find them?

I got mine from a guy in Holland who makes a batch from the original mould. He some times sells them on eBay, his name is Geert. If you can’t find him on eBay I can send you his email.

Nice chap and he will post them. As you would expect not cheap

I have a pair of them that i list every now and again.
Not sold as yet as not prepared to be low baled on them.
Happy to keep them as they are becoming more rare as time goes on.

Only thing I would say re Geert lenses is they are not exactly the same orange as original, so if you are looking for exactly matching lenses, you will need to buy a pair.
