S Series Bonnet Hinge Mod - Open Wide
Discussion
Hi,
here are a few pics of my recent bonnet hinge mod. Drawings to follow. I used 30mm SHS accompanied by some 1.6mm sherry shims to make it a snug fit in the chassis box section.

Tidy and straight forward solution without altering the chassis,
deserves a mention in the wiki.
One question: do you get front to back adjustment by shifting the plates on the ply?
Yep, up, down, forwards and backwards is all via the over-sized holes and 'pinch' set up of the two plates clamping each of the bonnet webs. deserves a mention in the wiki.

Left and right is more of a faff, inserting washers on the pivot bolt of the hinge.
You basically get left and right correct, then loosen the pinch bolts with the bonnet jacked/ propped in the correct place- then tighten it all up. Job done.
