Cambelt / Timing Chain

Looking back through some previous posts, it would appear that the 2.9 in the S3 is fitted with a timing chain rather than a cambelt. Can anyone confirm this so that I can stop worrying about when the belt should be changed?

P.S. Does anyone know any history on J444 TVR (my new pride and joy)? I know it started life in Cheshire and was resident in Scotland around '96, but any other history would be interesting.

The 2.9 Cologne V6 engine has a timing chain, which occasionally needs attention to the tensioners.
The 2.8 Cologne V6 engine has timing gears which can cause problems due to excessive wear.
