i have a wonderful looking tvr and lots of friends comment on how lovely it looks in the drive, and it does but the only problem is the only way i can get it out of the drive is on the back of a flat bed truck!!it wont start without a jumpstart despite a new battery, altenator both of which were only replaced last year and it will not hold any charge i have disconnected the radio in case that was draining and that is n`t the problem do i need an auto electician to suss it out and can you get them to come out to you has anyone out there any ideas i live in sw london and don`t want to be ripped off.!! cheers
He means the charging light on the dash. This light (red) will be on, when you start the engine and only go out when you rev up. I'm sure you would have noticed this as it would be glowing in your face. Also check the volt meter to see if there is a charge going into the system. It should go out at 2200 rpm. we are also assuming you have a 2.9 engine.I can't see in the book which fuse controls this lot but check all the fuses on the panel under the passenger footwell anyway. they will all have a value on them and you should keep some spares just in case. Also check your earth lead from the battery to the chassis and clean everything that looks corroded.Check the second row from the left, second one down, 30 amp as this controls the warning lights, instruments, and indicators. Its not 30 amps for nothing. If all else fails, there are auto/elecs that are mobile for peolpe just like you!
good luck.

Gadget’s right - I did mean the charging light
If your battery is discharging and it's not obvious what's draining the power, the best way to put a voltmeter across the battery terminals and take the reading - This is without the engine running.
With the meter still there, pull each fuse out one by one, and after pulling each fuse check the meter reading. If the reading goes up after pulling the fuse then it's on that circuit that the problem resides. You'd then have to refer to the wiring diagram to diagnose further.
It is worth looking at the fundimental things first before going down this route, like is the interior light left stuck on etc. Sorry if this sounds a bit obvious.
Cheers,
Dave.
