Help! Blower not working
Discussion
Oh don't you just love the rain... Um, my demisting blower has stopped working. Just like that. If I venture into the fuse box how do I recognise which one to check? The switch seems okay in the car..it clicks nicely! Firkling around the back didn't produce any disconnected wires. Any ideas? Thanks.
It should be a 30 amp fuse, second row from the top, second fuse in from the left - subject to usual TVR no two the same caveats.
Is the S2 a two speed fan switch? I ask because the high speed stopped working in my S3 just after I got it and that turned out to be the switch even though it clicked ok and the dealer said they never went wrong.
Cheers,
JSG.

Talking of switches... the interior dashboard light switch has 2 switch points (as well as off)... what does the second one do.. (supposed to do)?
Cheers,
Matt
The 3 stages are
1 - Off
2 - Dim
3 - Full on
Since my dim dip module went to the wall and I haven't replaced it I now only have full on and off. So I get the full star wars effect on the screen when driving at night.
JSG,
The fan is a 2 speed fan in the S1's S2's and on I presume.
Not got it on the market currently. Am having the bonnet resprayed to get rid of the stone chips and makeit look lovely. It really needed doing...Then I will probably put it up for sale at a reasonable price.
I am in a difficult situation currently which is putting everything on hold a little until I find out. I won't be worse off and in fact am likely to be better off but either way I don't know and before I go commiting myself to anything to large I need to wait a while.
Apart from that the cars going really well at the moment. Going to set up the geometry and corner weight on Saturday ready to go to Hethel trackday on 17th August. Will be interesting to see the difference it makes to the handling..
How's the other twin ?

Other twins just fine... sadly sat behind a Skip at the moment so I'm not enjoying the driving experience. Finally worked out where the water was coming in round the top of the windscreen last week so sorted it out with some clear sealant.. I now don't get a wet lap on acceleration after its been stood in the rain and the waters sat round the bottom of the screen . Barring that, I'd like to splash out on a new roof as yours looked really tidy compared to mine, but I think its a bit of an expense just to replace the current one that works fine, just on looks alone.
By the way.. the old numberplates on the car are Station Hill Garage - Farnham so I might give them a bell and see what they know about the car..
Cheers

The plates on mine are still the original ones with the 'Bulldog' sticker from the TVR centre at Barnet. I have the original bill of sale. I still need to get the chassis number to you and we can see how close they were on the production line.
If we did it right we could almost put a piece together for PH

Mark,
I've slung the corner weight guage in the car, you need to email me the directions and arrange a time to meet on Saturday!

Leebee,
Where are these to be located and what else do they effect.
I currently have a temp gauge that overreads and following the wiring diagram suggest that it is involved ina number of other areas..
I hate doing electrics but I am damned if I'm going to pay anyone else to do it. My father is superb with 'em but is currently in Bali or Java having a whale of a time ! Lucky bar steward.
The in line resistor for the sensor should be a 15.2 ohm resistor and now is and it still reads wrong. It used to read perfectly until the first resistor broke and for a while a had to run without a gauge. Once I had got it fitted it has never run right since. Iknow its not overheating and need to sort the circuit etc etc
Suggestions ....

Suggestions ....
1. Sure it is a 15.2 Ohm resistor?
2. Sensor taking revenge for not sorting things out immediately.
3. Sensor thinks you are a cheapskate and is not playing...
4. The engine is genuinely overheating and is about to lunch itself.
5. Ploy by Dad to ensure Birthday and Father's day present.
Hope this helps.
Steve

1. Yes (or at least all the garages I spoke to said so)
2. Possible
3. Not possible. I've spent £1000's on this car
4. Definitely isn't. New Rad. Flushed system. Engine running perfectly. No coolant loss. Never overheated.
5. More than likely !!
Any ideas if it isn't a 15.2 ohm what it actually is ??
