Let the row commence wink

What do people think is the best colour for an S? Light, dark, metalic, pearl or solid?

Pics would be good too.

Oh boy, I suspect you will have disturbed a hornets nest there!

Best colour must of course be British Racing Green with Doeskin interior, proper classic british car colour, but then I am biased.

My favourite ever was the one owner by Jimed on this forum before he went all 'Griffith'. That one was in Damson metallic with a cream leather interior with damson piping and carpets.

I think the car suits a dark colour, never been keen on it in light colours, especially not white. (That should set some bullets flying my way!).

Mind you my partner would like me to paint mine 'burnt orange' as per 1960's Porsche. Tempted.....err no!

Happy to prod a hornets nest.

It would be nice to see a black one.

Boring as hell but I'd have a BRG one with magnolia trim and dark green carpets.

Dark colours suit it in my opinion. Dark green with tan interior, black roof, traditional and classic.

This is pearlescent - sometimes called Aquamarine pearl, sometimes Goodwood Green. It was a special edition MG colour:

It has a blue flip which shows up in flash photographs:

I love the biscuit interior with lighter veneer:

But every one has a different opinion!

Here we go......... this ol chestnut.

The BIG G has a big black one - if he's around he should have a pic. Some of the light colours can look surprisingly good on the S - white, pearl white and bright yellow with black roof all have looked good IMO. (Light ones kinda open the openings more) I'm going to need a respray soon, so going through that in my head too.

I love all s's in all colours blue are fastest brg is classic, black looks cool but so does white and yellow IMHO.

If I were to colour change mine I would likley go for a porsche rs Orange or lambo Orange with black wheels etc..

I love the paint effect of Chris Gregory's t350 so if I would have applied to the Orange that would be ideal or perhaps the same intensity in Tvr purple with same paint effect.. Mmm will look for a pic of the t350 in question.

Blue is best.

My two cars at Oulton Park a couple of years ago.

S's follow a traditional British sports car design language - long bonnet, small chopped off rear.

So IMHO, I think the traditional colours suit the Surface form best. Blue, red and of course the many green variants. Silver is timeless too.
