Do you think Aldridge Trimming (the firm featured in the programme) could make a proper folding hood for an 'S'? Anyone local to them want to ask?

But looking at their website I don't think the design and manufacture of a "unique" hood frame is what they're into?



Cost wise I reckon it would take some serious "group purchase" to become cost effective, lets just say one bloke could design and build a prototype in a week (and that would be some going), forty hours at even a very modest £50 per hour is £2000, not forgetting parts, materials, fabric, paint/powder coat etc. etc......

Are you going to lend him your car as a jig to drill miscellaneous holes in and fit brackets to?

Or buy a nice old Triumph TR2, 3, 3A or 4.
The folding hood worked well on these, plus they were easily interchanged with the optional hard top for winter stormtimes.

There is a ready market for the brave entrepreneur to exploit.

Hi All
Looked at this for some time, not sure it's a cost effective project, It's jut not one of those projects that I feel is worth all the effort,. Ok if you do roof repairs for a living but a one off, not for me, I think if you could get a TVR 3000m you may be able to make it fit and look good.

I am looking at a hard top for the S with removable glass lights a bit like a full T top , like a 300z or the old Rover tomcat
