Does anyone recognise this type of steering rack? It was sold to me as an early Chim rack and does indeed fit that car. Has it ever been fitted to the S series cars? The castings either end have TVR part nos. cast into them.

Help will be appreciated.

I've fitted one to an S - it does take a bit of work but can be done.
It does look the same as the chim rack I had.

Any truth you can make a BMW 3 Series rack fit an 'S'?

I was sold this as a Chimaera rack (and I have no reason to doubt it), is a little different to yours but could have been a design change during production?

As far as I know S's never had power steering, earlier Wedges used a Ford rack so if it's got TVR on it Chimaera/Griffith seems logical?

No biggrin

Have a rummage around the Chimaera forums, I think Subaru or something like that is a possibility?

Thanks for the replies chaps. Does seem that it is a very early Chim rack. Didn't know that S cars never had power steering although I have since been told that it can be retrofitted.

Never heard about BMW racks on a TVR but some info here about the Impreza mod.
