TVR S2 Clutch Slave replacement

HI Guys

I know this has been covered before but i just wondered if someone that has done the job could confirm that my findings are correct?

So i think i need to buy a slave from a 300tdi

is this the correct set up?

Its not too bad yet just a tiny weep but its def on my list of things to fix...... I gather that essentially its just a slightly fiddly job. ive done them before on mx5 etc.

Hi Matt.

Did mine a few years ago (S3c). From memory , I used a series 3 land rover slave cylinder which looks very similar to the Tdi you have shown. Cut the pipe and used a 7/16 unf male connector but it was not a double ended one. I am sure someone will be along to either confirm or rubbish my memory.

I ordered the slave 591231 as per this link:

and then went to pirtek and picked up some hydraulic tubing with 3/8 and 7/16 fittings about 110cm long, bore 1/4"

Bled and everything has been working nicely since!

Buy a land rover master and slave with 3/16 (same as brake pipe) fittings on both. You will hardly notice the difference with the slightly smaller bore pipe.
If you have a problem in the future landy parts are available just about anywhere.
You obviously need a new pipe.

Not long done mine. Bought a LR 300tdi, one from an indipendant dealer, who found one with the slightly smaller diameter so it fitted the collar, ( saved the grinding down of the outer casing to fit )and the unions were a straight fit, easy peazy. Took old slave plus the link pipe to match.
Not got part number on me as away on hols, but back in two days if you need the info.
