Right it is Tuesday 15:15 car is back in the garage and cup of tea by my side. Sorry for all you that have to travel more than 25 miles beyond the channel ports, but I am feeling smug and contented.

I just wanted to thank you all for a fantastic weekend, it really was an excellent event and the weather held up too, though maybe too hot, but I am not complaining. What a great bunch of blokes (and ladies) the camaraderie, as usual, was second to none.

Special thanks to Longers once again for all his hard work, without him this event certainly would not happen, and if it did, it would be a pale imitation, of that I am sure. Thanks to Han for his work on the routes, which were stunning, and of course for the excellent momento he arranged for the event.

All that remains now is to look out for the details of Longers just giving page, I'm sure we will all dig deep into our pockets to show our appreciation of the hard work he put into this event as we remember the great weekend we have just had.

Thanks once again for the excellent company. I hope you all made it home safe and sound and without incident. Here's to next year.

Edited to rem0ove the vagaries of awtocorect.

Sat in M1 services having a strong coffee having felt like dozing at the wheel the last few miles!!!

Been stuck in m25 car park delay of 40 mins as a micra had head butted a polo into the crash barrier with dramatic consequences!!

Fantastic 'long weekend' :-) can't wait to see everyone's pictures and videos....and for at there to be an MG on the front of the Sprint for the first time in history??? I doubt it ;-)

Will spend the rest of my coffee thinking about where to display my award without ruining the feng shui in my garage.

What a superb trip. Surpassed all expectations and a great bunch of kind hearted, generous folk with a common interest.

Thanks Longers for all of your hard work - it's enormously evident and the trip wouldn't exist without you.

Here's to Chris Willy!

I hope you made it back OK Andrew. It was a privilege watching you and the Midget do your stuff; for which you got a well deserved award I thought!.

Wow. .........
Learnt so much on the tour, you sit back listen, learn, hear people's opinions
absorb people's knowledge, understand peoples characters, see how people handle issues.

What a great bunch... loved it. clap

Will change a few things for next time for sure.
I've learnt so much about the car and myself.
Somethings I'll change, some others things ill tweek

Fascinating talking with you Ian. Understanding all the/your history.
Well done mate, in so many ways, it's been brilliant. bow

Thanks to you all for another great and memorable trip. All the “New Boys” (and girls!) were “Old Boys” (including the Girls) within a few hours and it seemed like we’d known each other for years. A brilliant trip Longers and thanks especially to you for all your hard work in making it happen.

Cheers and here's to next year! beer

I wholeheartedly agree with all the comments & sentiments expressed above, especially thanks to Longers for yet another masterful display of organisation,
Han for the exquisite momento, Anita for sharing her Amazing Stroopwafels with us, and Simon for not struggling. ( Hope.my sleepsounds were not too disturbing mate sleep )
Thanks to everyone who came along on the trip, you are all fantastic peeps. thumbup

Austin has yet to make it back home, so not all S's have fully completed the journey.
But I have no doubt that he will.

We enjoyed the extra stopover in Ypres with Tony, Niiige, Barry & sister Jo, Trev & Ros.
It was a very moving experience visiting the War Museum & the Cemetaries.
Such a pointless & tragic waste of young lives. frown

We've decided to spend an extra day in Essexland to visit family & friends.

I would also like to pass on my thanks to everyone on the tour for making it another memorable few days of excellent driving, banter, camaraderie, eating and drinking, a better bunch of like-minded people you are not likely to meet.

Special thanks to all those who stopped to help me and Tom with our various "issues" that we had especially to Paul (Oldred V8S) and Colin for staying with us when the car conked out with a (suspected) overheated coil, your logical thinking (and recent experience!) got us through it while I started to panic, cheers mate, you're a star!

Finally thanks to Longers for the hours you must have spent putting it all together to make up another cocktail of excellent roads (with help from Han), great hotels and how do you sort out the weather?bow

Thanks again everyone and roll on next year!bounce
