Hi all.
I'm still having trouble with my "new" speedo reading at double speed. See my earlier post for more on that one.
To try and remedy this I bought another S/H speedo from David Gerald and that never moved at all. Duly exchanged for another one and still no movement! This surely can't be the sender as the original S/H unit works, albeit at 2X fast?
My question is, are there different Ford senders available? Does anyone know the correct part no.?
The brand new one I have fitted was off ebay and for a Transit. The number on the case reads 95GB-9E731-CA. The one I removed reads 95GB-9E731-EA. Could this be the problem and if so where can I get the correct part or even a good used one?
Thanks in advance, I am really lost now!!!
Chris.

Do you have 12V going into the speedo pickup? If so it might be worth putting a LM7805 voltage regulator on the input to the sender to see if that works. I've just experienced similar fun getting an ETB speedo to work (MG Midget & type 9 gearbox) and it didn't like the 12V input signal, and I tried the output from my old leaking S3 speedo sender. I actually used a LM7805 on the output of the sender (tapped into the wrong wire) but would expect that supplying 5V into the sender is probably better.

Thanks for that information. There is 12V at the sender so I will investigate further!
It is a puzzle. I've spoken to Neil at ML Performance and he said that there is only one sender for the V6 S, but that there are two different types for the V8. The mystery deepens!
Regards Chris.
