Well it's time to throw in the towel the car isn't running yet let alone shaken down for the trip.. So sadly I need to bow out. Have a great run chaps maybe next year. I knew this was a risk when I booked.

As many of you know Track v Road have done the conversion for me so I wanted to state that none of the blame for this cluster fk lies with them a great bunch of chaps that had the car ready for mapping weeks ago. Issues have come with contracted 4th parties and then further contracted 5th parties failing to deliver.

So anyhow ho hum gonna finish car properly now so prob another couple of weeks.

Enjoy folks I am very envious smile

Damian s3 (still in more bits than I would like)

If you have booked your hotel room and ferry could you still not go and any loan drivers share fuel costs with them
At least you would still be on the tour
Sorry to hear

There are a few of us with passenger seats. Do a day or half day with each of us?

Damian

Do you have another vehicle you could use? Don't worry about not being in an S, or like the other guys have said, grab a seat with someone else. Go on, give yourself a break. Shame to lose 100% of the trip.

Grab a seat mate, you won't regret it. I cannot stress that enough... All the previous tours have been epic. I'm sure somebody can pick you up from a station en route so why not pack a bag ...

Gutted for you Damian, but as others have pointed out, there are plenty of spare seats.

I started off at noon today, and I'm already 200 miles closer to Calais. driving

Bag any seat, heaven knows we all need a decent navigator/ co-pilot wink

Tims S is sitting in the garage with a brand new windscreen! As featured on the cover of sprint and I put it through the last MOT with NO advisories . It's for sale as well I believe as we'll be in the Griff :-)

Damian, I can only repeat what's been said above - you can still make the tour if you want to. However... I can only guess how disappointed you must be after looking forward to taking the new engine for a blast across Euroland and appreciate that being a passenger might not appeal, be frustrating, etc.
Let me know what you plan to do wink

Damian. If you can, come along. Lots of spare seats by the look of it. Would it be feasible to get the train to Calais?
