sorry to hear that shnozz, know what you mean, ive just turned 30 but have always had performance cars and have always hated the insurers attitude to young drivers.i know the stats may suggest that younger male drivers are more of a risk but when it comes to cars like ours i think on the whole most people would be extra carefull with their baby. dont think most tvr drivers have got anything to prove on the road anyway unlike the baseball-cap wearing boy-racer type who probably cause most of the stats!oops-went off on one there, the only consolation is you will get older and your insurance will get cheaper.still youve only got less than a year to put up with b4 they will entertain you

Kev,

Mannings have just beaten my last years policy by £200.

So I'm fairly chuffed as well.

Dave.

nice one dave, what you going to spend the saving on?
think ill get myself a splendid new steering wheel
mannings and my old insurers dont seem to bother too much about ncb either.ive also got full no claims from before i got the s, does this run out or expire? as i think im going to buy an old banger for when the car is in bits over the winter. any suggestions say for £200.thought about getting something really naff and getting a 'my other car is a tvr' bumper sticker

Cheers Kev, I'll probably spend it on Mmmmmm...

Seriously though, 150-200 quid gets a set of S alloys re-polished, if yours need it?

As for the NCB, most insurers that offer classic/limited mileage polices aren’t to fussed about it, but they also don't award you with any NCB either! So you'll need to keep a runabout going to keep that NCB up as most "normal" insurance companies don't recognise years of driving under classic policies as a form of retaining your NCB.

And unless it's changed recently, it used to be that if you didn’t use your NCB for 2 years it then doesn’t count.

If I’m now wrong – Someone please correct me.

Cheers,

Dave.
