Has yours ever fallen off?

Hi Keiran,
Nope, it was the rear section of the front O/S (the bit on the body tub, assuming they're all like that!)
The screws were really tight so can't understand why they worked loose. All the bouning on the tyre has arsed up the remaining mounting holes on the arch and tub, i.e. to replace will need bigger screws or alternative fixings.
Just lucky I noticed it, wouldn't have relished the thought of it fouling the steering or something

Yes,
Both sides due to running the front low and catching them on full lock these days but originally just worked loose.
First time was along the M11 at considerable velocity which created an alarming amount of tyre smoke
Mine were/are rivetted onto the bodywork and I have now doubled the number of rivets and resolved the situation.
If rivetting though you need to make sure you add an additional washer to increase the head diameter and also make sure the rivet body is long enough to get through both the wheel arch and the body which is pretty thick at this point.
Cheers

Correct ...
I find the rivets are far better than screws and have given me no grief.
You do have to drill them out if you want to remove them...but why would you need to remove them ? Certainly with mine all the chassis tubing in the region is visible with the mudgaurd in place.
Cheers

-the old 'no two cars are the same' thingy applies here I see!
my inner arch extends down to just below the chassis tubing, which means to check said tubing properly I have to take the arches off......this is what I did and likely why the thing later fell off!
I'm happy to report that this also means the chassis tubing is in good shape in this area....unlike the outriggers!
