Passenger footwell electrics!

My S3 was draining the battery very quickly, so the other day I had the aged immobiliser and alarm removed.
During the process, the electrician was shocked at the state of the wiring - bare wires, bad joints etc, and the whole loom was just bundled up and being held in place by a piece of carpeted cardboard!
It looks as though there is a bracket there - should there be a plate or mounting board for the electrics and loom etc?
If anyone has any photos of the correct setup it would be much appreciated!
We also think the fuel pump relay connection block is duff - any ideas on where to get a replacement?
I suppose that for a 20 year old car with 8 previous owners, it's no surprise!

Many many many years ago when I refurbed my TR 2,
I bought an off-the-peg replacement full wiring loom, which was a great time-saver & was spot on, & all the cable colour coding was correct. Brilliant! Saved a lot of messing about.
I'd like to see what a genuine original TVR S loom looked like!
If such a thing ever existed ..........
I have visions of mares' nests, cats' cradles and a kindergarten full of kids playing with string.
A tangled mess of random cables & wires of every possible hue gradually evolving organically & meaninglessly into the scary sight we see today if we look behind the dash. Not a hint of order or logic.
The factory must have been the cable tie company's best customer by far ( assuming they were paid for ).
I've seen better knitting up in the trees!
But if it works, stay away from it!!!

Bet there was no such thing. Probably used the nearest Ford loom and bodged in the other bits as necessary. If such a thing ever existed ..........glenrobbo said:

Cable ties? So yours is the deluxe version then? Mine was held together with miles of horrible sticky black tape.

Bet there was no such thing. Probably used the nearest Ford loom and bodged in the other bits as necessary. If such a thing ever existed ..........
. Mine has had several people modify and bodge it over the years so it's hard to tell exactly who did what but most of the really bad bits were done by alarm fitters or stereo bodgers. The engine loom in the v8 is a rangerover one (hence the 10' of unnecessary wire in the passenger footwell) aside from the plug that connects it to the body loom. There's a whole 7 wires that join the two to provide power to the ecu/injectors and to connect it to the fuel pump and speedo sender and one in the engine bay for a tacho feed.zombeh said:

Not sure about that. I thought the ECU/injectors/AFM/sensors section of loom was certainly RR but that bit of loom was then bodged into the the standard S loom. Who knows?

Not in my one. I've been robbed! I'd agree with comment above about alarm installers.
