Quick question how do you get the gear knob off a S2? The plastic bit at the top of mine seems to buzz at high speeds through vibration, I got an after market one but can''t get the old one off.

If it's the black Sierra one? grab hold of it and turn it anti clockwise! Cheers LeeBee

I have a wooden one on my S1 which is held on by a small screw with an allen head. A lot of aftermarket knobs aslo use this fixing. Paul

Anyone know what car the two gaiters are off. The rubber one looks like Ford something but where can I get a new leather one?

My guess is it's a TVR special knocked up by their trim people. Looks as if it would be dead easy to make one out of a couple of bits of that fake leather stuff. Peter Humphries (and a green v8S)

Definitely TVR. I remember seeing them at the factory when they were still making S4's.

Some companies sell aftermarket gaiters you might be able to find one to fit. You could try Demon Tweaks or one of those types.

Back to the original question.. My old man used to have Sierra firms cars, the black plasticy thing first rattled then fell out of both of them. Best thing to do is wait for it to fall off then stick it back on with modelling glue and put a blob of blu-tak underneath to ensure a good contact area.

Undoing tight gearknobs can be made easier by severely swearing at them when in the process .As for the gaiters, the rubber one is a stretched Sierra one and as mentioned the other is made by 12 year old Blackpool kids (or was that the rest of the car??)at the factory Cheers Lee
