Just when you think everything's sorted frown

Drive the car last night. In slow moving traffic the engine just stopped.

It would restart but splutter to a stop seconds later. I tried this repeatedly and same thing happened.

After a few minutes I gave it one more try before calling for breakdown assistance and it was fine again. Drove 30 miles home no problem.

I could hear the fuel pump whine on switching on ignition.

Anyone any thoughts? Really don't want this happening on the euromtour!

Amplifier module, coil?
In that order.

If they have not been changed lately Stuart I would do so. They are not expensive items and it is probably best to carry the old ones as spares anyway.

In the short term you could check the amp module has a smear of heat conductive paste on the back of it. I know my car very occasionally would cut out/misfire when hot, and you have had issues with a misfire in the past so it might be an idea to check it.

It sounds very similar symtoms to those I have suffered, my first guess would be ignition amplifier module. Intermotor part 15310 will sort it.

Andrew ( Wizzer ) ,
Is your's a V8S then?
I couldn't find your name on the V8S Owners' List.
I'm not trying to be clever, just wouldn't want anyone to buy the wrong module.
