Has anyone used one of those tilting devices advertised in classic car mags to refurb the chassis. They seem to offer excellent acces in the adverts but does the tilting put undue stress on the chassis/body?

I've only seen/heard of them being used in cars without a separate chassis, generally most cars that have a removable body would not use one of these.

Having said that, if you could find a roller that would fit an S, as long as the doors are fitted and in place, I wouldn't think it would stress the body if it were flipped over.

But, having thought about it, I think it would be best to remove the bonnet/wheels to reduce the weight/stress on the chassis beforehand.

And it goes without saying that the battery, engine/gearbox oil, diff oil, brake/clutch fluid, coolent and washer fliud need draining first.

Otherwise we could be looking at a new thread "How's the best way to clean up ........... off my garage floor.."

Cheers,

Dave.
