There are undoubtedly many very nice S's "out there" but maybe the request for "concours" cars and having to submit photo's is putting people off?
I can understand that with the far more common "modern" TVRs they may well be overwhelmed with entries and need a way to thin them down, but us S's are far more unique
If they are to be displayed with bonnets shut I'd have thought any car with a half decent interior and a good polish on the outside would have been fine?

I'm meeting with Alayne on Monday to better understand exactly what she's looking for but my thoughts are to have a representative from each model. As Mike says, as long it scrubs up well then that should be fine.
Alayne did ask if I'd put my car in and it's certainly nowhere near as nice as many of all your cars. But maybe she'd mistaken it for someone else's as they all look the same
So, if you are planning to go to Burghley and have a nice S1,2 or 4, please let us (me or Longers) know.

Please add me to the list, all being well I have rearranged a few things and now able to attend on the Saturday or Sunday. Yippee. ! My first major TVR event, I will be the one wandering around or still driving round lost ! Please give me anudge in the right direction.

If no suitable concours S1 can be found, could I put poor old weatherbeaten shotblasted chemical fallout & sand-encrusted Austin forward to preserve the timeline. He may not be classed as concours, but he is one of the very first production batch of the S Series, and epitomises the spirit of what the S is all about : - FUN!!
Perhaps he could be considered as a "Go-car not Show-car" in memory of Clarence Boddiger ( Ken Appleton ) RIP who had much the same philosophy as myself: - Driving takes preference over polishing.
The new powdercoated wheels are nice ( but not diamond cut, so not concours ).
Oh, and the roof is very good, because it gets very little use Barry

That'd be a bit of a Top Gear bombshell Steve.Sorry, but I'm not making the rules for this one. The TVRCC want concours / immaculate cars and for this event I can understand why.
Glenn, best thing to do is send me some pics of your car inside & out from different angles and I'll send them to the event organisers for them to respond. Thanks for offering though

So Austin is back home after a weekend of faultless performance, coverered in muck & glory, with another 765 miles under his belt. I've enjoyed every minute, and I'll give him a sluice down tomorrow to clean off some of the last week's accretions.
But I won't be removing the stickers & labels that make him special to me just so he can pose in a circle of immaculate S's & other TVR's.
This ( almost ) 27 yr old car's for usin' not for posin'.
Best to include him out of the list.
