As a slight detour on the other thread, the boss has pointed out that according to Chris Evans tomorrow is Classic Car Day and that therefore we all have to drive our cars instead of the daily wagon.

So, methinks we had better follow orders and add much aural improvement to the country along with a health dose of proper emissions?

Im with you guys, wake the neighbours, well around 7am ish anyway drive your classic to work. Gotta be done. Now its rained the smog pollution and potential paint damaging crud has been washed out of the air now. Bring on a warm dry sunny weekend.

I'm guessing most of you are on classic car insurance policies so check that your insurance does cover you for commuting. All the classic policies that I've had didn't.

Check the Motor Certificate - that's where it will tell you. SDP only I would suspect for most. SDP and commuting you'll need, although how they prove you were going to work is another matter. Class 1 is for full business use.

I saw a few running around in Kent, especially a really nice 246 Dino. Agreed the weather wasn't brilliant. but I had just had a full geo setup and it was the first time on the road this year, so whatever happened, I was going to be conducting a lengthy road test that included a nice pub lunch in a beer garden with plenty of petrol converted to noise. Ah, Days like these!

Unfotunately I had no work to go to, so I just drove around the backroads of Essex visiting relatives but making lots of lovely exhaust noise everywhere I went.

I am afraid, like Glen, I have no work to go to anymore ......... thank goodness . We do however greatly appreciate those of you who are generously continuing to pay your contributions!!

I am afraid I am one of those who do think we are probably doing a pretty good job of ruining our planet (in a number of ways). However I feel, having read Pauls comment above, that I can justify my driving of a TVR by saying that I am environmentally friendly in that my car converts petrol to noise, which has far less effect on the climate!! I like that!!
