According to the TVR books there were about 2,600 S's made, from the S1 to the V8S. Does anyone know how many were exported? Of those left in the UK, anyone hazard a guess how many are left (after write off's etc.)

No real reason for the question other than idle curiosity (actually, that's what I think I am - an idle curiosity)!!

Is yours the .45?

The write off rate is somewhere between 5-10% per annum but it varies with age and so on. You can work it out from there.

I would guess several hundred V8S and about 1200 odd V6 models. Ish.

In reality no-one knows...

Steve,

I've seen figures of around 400 for V8S manufacture - any idea how many were pre-cat out of that total.

Cheers,
JSG.

Most of them as catted cars were only needed in 1993 and by then the V8S was out of production more or less. I reckon there are about 35 catted V8S made ish. Roughly. Off the top of my head.

Thanks Steve,

Interesting as a lot of the others I've seen have had cats.

Cheers,
John.

Perhaps a larger percentage of the pre cats have been written off , and the catted ones are driven like tarts, stand fast Peter H's either way you don't see that many about .
BTW I think there's at least 1 x 4.3BV, 2 x 500 and 3/4 x 400HC V8S variants as well, well thats what left the factory. I know of one 4.6 after market boy racer GTI one though

From what I can recall, was a long time ago when a friend bought a new V8SC, I think It was one of the last few made, as he informed me the last year they made them there was only 25 made and already knew of one that was written off.

And also from the same time I was advised that the total production run for the V8S was only 400 cars.

If I'm slightly off, remeber I'm thinking of a conversation over 8 years ago

If this is correct I wonder how many of the 400 are still around, I can vouch for one, at least
