Took the wee beastie for its MOT full of confidence in it passing with flying colours: NO.... IT HAS FAILED??????? This has never happened in the 14 years of ownership- what's going on?
Reading between the lines of the failure certificate gobble-de-gook I think there is a slight hole/corrosion problem with the n/s outriggers and suspension mounting plate. As well as the minor problem of the o/s headlamp pointing to the skies (hmm, being as the car had the front end off in the summer for the re-spray, I wonder who might have caused this problem!!!!)
Anyway, bit the bullet and had a good chat with Mat Smith over in Downham Market as a result of which car goes in for repairs next week.He snorted at the idea that the chassis repairs could be done within the 10 day re-test time frame so more money to pay. Have also asked him to service car & set suspension up properly, etc, etc, etc.
I have a feeling that the kind donation from mother-in-law for my recent 50th isn't going to be used on a holiday for the wife and I- she seems pleased at this latter news (though moaned at the 1st part) so I must be out of favour there.
This could be quite an expensive month I think.
Having said all this, any spare cash I may have gets Booger all return in the bank so hopefully values of the S-Series will resemble those of the DB5 and provide a half decent retirement fund.
Must make sure car back for TOPGearTVR Norfolk meet.
