Hi, Having a problem with my nearside front indicator, changed bulbs and still not working so plan to change the bulb holder, but cannot find the ref to what is the replacement, the main indicator unit ( Sherpa unit ) is all in good order, so its just the bulb holder unit I need to replace.

Any help is appreciated.

THanks

I'd suggest a rummage round a scrap yard (or Ebay) for something that looks similar or adapt something like this to fit?

Scroll down to bulb holders 170138 should be the one.

Bulb holders are pretty simple things, what can go wrong? A bit of a scrub up to remove any tarnish/corrosion and bend the little contact in the middle up a bit so it definately touches the bulb.
Have you got power there? Test with a meter, yes - no - yes - no (old joke)
Could the problem be further back? There are electrical connections near the bonnet hinges, notorious for corroding and causing problems.

Thanks, will check this out. The connections on the back of the bulb holder are rough to say the least, so maybe a clean up and re solder might solve the trick....will also check power....thanks for the info.

More than likely a dodgy earth or other connection as per Phillpot above.

I found that the ones fitted to most mid range Toyotas (plenty in breakers) could be cut out and adapted to fit in the old Sherpa housing. I did both front indicators. I seem to remember it was pretty easy to do.
