Hi Liam,

Currently using Valvoline VR1 Racing, because it has the highest zddp content whch I'm told is kinder to the valve train.
Available from Eurocarparts, often on offer.

Failing that, Castrol GTX 15w-40 probably best for winter use.

HTH,
Glen smile

ETA : Just ignore the felt tip numerals, they were on the container when I bought it.

I prefer early summer when flocks of S's migrate east to the continent. cloud9

Bump!

Sorry Joe, I should have narrowed it down a bit. smile

There is an earlier thread in which Phillpot says he uses some old stuff from Phillips Oils.
I thought they made those rubber stick-on soles my Dad got for me when I was a kid.
They were ok, but not as good as shoes......

Wow that's thin ... Mobil 1 Motorsport was 10/40 iirc...

Do you lose any?

That used to disappear quickly in my cossie but that had forged pistons..

Obviously I don't have one but I would put this in it.

http://www.mobil1.co.uk/synthetic-engine-oils/exte...

I used to make and install the testing equipment for most of the labs for all the top oil companies and work with their guru's. Especially at BP.

BP bought Mobile for their oil development and the Castrol oils development plant in Germany so they Mobil 1 is a cumulation of all the developments. I know that BP if you can still get it is actually Mobil 1 in a green can and I guess you can pretty much bet Castrol is the same stuff too.

Happy shopping
