RIDE HEIGHT SETTING TVR S1
Discussion
Just for reference, I recently fitted my S1 with GAZ shocks. The set up settings (i.e. the starting pint from which you can 'fine tune' to your preference) are:
Ride height front, measured under the outer part of the front outrigger tube, i.e. the tube at right angles to the main chassis and directly behind the front wheel: 175mm
Ride height rear, measured under the outer part of the rear outrigger tube, i.e. the tube at right angles to the main chassis and directly in front of the rear wheels: 190mm
Damper settings are number of clicks from the softest extreme.
Front: 10 clicks (I needed to go to 12)
Rear: 8 clicks (I went to 10)
I am now letting my car settle down at these settings for a bit then I am going to 'borrow' the ramp at the local garage and see if the ride heights have settled and need adjusting again. I suspect I will also need to take the front dampers up another click.
If, of course, your outriggers are 'dodgy' then you will have some adjusting to do. Perhaps better to sort the outriggers before fitting new suspension anyway!

Sorry for the delay in coming back on this one. My Gaz units are Gas Classics (GP8). The spring rates are 450 front / 375 rear. These are constant rate rather than rising rate springs (I believe all the gaz shocks are constant rate?).
I would rather someone more knowledgeable added this info to the wiki.....I could bugger the lot up!
