Apologies if this has been discussed before. I just went to open my bonnet and handle was loose. Looking under dash the silver wire is loose around the white plastic pulley wheel. Any ideas to get the bonnet open?
Good job im not taking him to le mans this year!!!
Thanks.

Hold the cable with a pliers, pull and cross your fingers.

Problem is it looks like one end from the wheel is attached to the bodywork next to the wheel and the other is the one loose...so pulling might not work....eeek.

You’ll have to dislocate your neck and see if you can locate the other end, If it’s snapped off inside the body work you’ve got a problem. You could try driving over some pot holes and see if it pops open. This is not a joke! Mostly this happens when you don’t want it to.

Sorted...two bolts right up in drivers foot well undo the inside of the catch then drops out allowing bonnet release. A pig to fit new cable though . Might create new system.

IF it's same as a V6 there is one long cable, loops around the pulley and either end go to the two release catches.

so, if you can still find both ends, pulling them should open the bonnet, then it's just the little matter of sourcing and fitting a new cable wink

Maybe get a better grip with some "Mole" grips (difficult to grip pliers with fingers crossed)?

Good Luck

ETA Too late, sounds like you've got it sorted.
