At last a paint match! WOOOHOOO
Discussion
I have seriously struggled to find an accurate match to my so called Ford Crystal Blue Metallic paint, originally a PPG colour 1812B.
I have with the help of Lustre Coatings http://www.lustrecoatings.co.uk who have the patience of saints and the skill of, well someone quite skilled finally got a proper match.
They paint loads of difficult and weird stuff and spend time with the customer like people used too.
Anyway, it turns out that there is an alternative mix available from their MIPA database which has lead to them supplying me half a litre of base coat. I have had a play with this and concluded that what I wanted was a few traditional aerosols and some compatible lacquer.
Lustre Coatings dont do aerosols - but my usual paint supplier Express Radiators in Norwich do....and so a few quid later I now have 4 colour matching aerosols made up from the 0.5 litre I supplied them.
The feeling is awesome!

Steve,
Surely all you had to do was contact the Top Gear production team & they would sort it all for you with their infinite research resources & enormous publicly- funded budget.
Or try B&Q, Cuprinol do a nice pale blue shed preservative now.
I'm sorry, no excuse except I'm very very drunk!
( Well it is Monday )

Nice to hear you are sorted, be careful when humping large things near your P&J in future
Are you coming to Newark next w/end? More the merrier they say
