Last week I lost the glove box key. Now I've gone and 'filed' the ignition key and immobiliser fob.

I have spares of both but was wondering if the immobiliser was factory fitted and if it's possible to get replacements.

I have just been through a similar event, having purchased a car with a damaged single key fob for a cobra alarm. Having spoken to Cobra, one of their local distributors, and an indi key fob replacement chap the answer is not good.

Even though I have all the paperwork for the alarm, key fob code numbers etc, they cannot issue another key fob that is programmed and ready to use. They can get me a blank key fob, that can be programmed from an existing and working fob, but that is it. Not much good without one working fob, and renders my rather expensive alarm useless.

I'm luck enough to still have one working fob; but there are no identifying marks to say what make it is in order to look for a replacement.
