Hi everyone, for weeks I have been reading about, googling or watching any s that comes up for sale. Now I have convinced my wife I deserve one and I am going to view my first, a ruby mica currently on autotrader at 5.5k.
I'm just starting this off in case anyone knows of one, has one they may be selling in the next weeks/months.
I do need one that has been fairly well sorted, and would rather pay now for a decent one than buy a lemon than suffer big repair bills later.
Cheers
Colin

You could try finding Julesprivate on here who is selling his beautiful S, not sure if still available but worth a look.
Cancel that I just read it is sold.
Happy hunting, they are a great car, you are almost guaranteed to please.

Cheers Mike, I had seen Jule's car for sale but it had sold before I had convinced my dearly beloved I deserved one, a similar one would be ideal.

I'm delivering it tomorrow, if anything goes wrong I'll let you know ;-) Not that I expect anything to go wrong but you never know, he hasn't even seen the car (bought blind on eBay)..

Cheers Jules if it does go pear shaped I'd be very interested

Thanks very much GB, I have made contact and await his reply.
Yesterdays viewing didn't go so well, we estimated about 2k in the garage and several weekends of wire brushing/cleaning/painting.
I shall carry on looking, I guess I've been spoilt by having the chance to view, drive and generally poke around one that has been cherished, cheers Sam!

If work has all been done properly and the car is as good as it looks then it would have cost a lot more then the asking price to get it into that condition. In fact, on face value it looks like quite a good deal and worth a visit.

Cheers guys I have already spotted that one, it looks a lovely car but a bit too rich for me I'm afraid.
I discovered quite early on I could afford a tidy V6 or a tatty V8..... I think

Cheers Dale, I guess you must've been at Sywell today enjoying the sunshine, unfortunately I was booked in for an ongoing garden redesign at my daughters or I would have been there...... one more weekend should sort it.
If I find a local car I shall have a look but I think word of mouth is the way forward, thanks to a lead from this thread I hopefully will view a nice s the first week in July, cheers for that Graham
The nice V8S (out of my price range) had some front end damage in 2011, was this the start of the rebuild?........
When people put their number plate on the advert and on the owners list it isn't hard to link them up........... when you are fishing daily on half a dozen websites to find a decent motor!
The search continues

Good luck with your search Colin.

I know how hard it is to keep patient but, the way I look at it the right car - your car - is out there waiting for you. I searched for about 6 months until I found my car. Which was way over my budget and not the colour I was looking for !!

And you will have so much pleasure when you have it.

Guess what I'm driving this week !!

Happy hunting and welcome to the friendliest group of owners......"in the world"

Yes , went along for an hour and stayed three and a half , didn't make me that popular as I was cooking Sunday lunch for six people .
Problem for you is Sam has a very nice S and if that's your benchmark it could take a while , best to persuade him to part with his wink

The show was interesting , I went for a look around , found the hot tubs , possible option for the future but couldn't find a salesman so moved on to the push bike stand were a nice German salesman tried to get me on one , they looked a bit flimsy for my huge bulk so asked him the price. £2800 yikes so moved on to the boats . They looked really interesting but then I saw ; starting from £33,999 and thought better of it . A nice little gyrocopter took my eye , they did a tandem and side by side option , looked really smart but they started from £68,999 . That's more than a Saggy (at the moment anyway) Just behind the small planes was a very striking looking powerboat/yacht type thing . I took several steps towards it only to see you had to go up a flight of stairs were it looked like a fully liveried crew would meet you and take you on a tour , and prices started at a mere £550.000 . I did feel way out of my comfort zone and on my way back to the TIVs I only glanced at the Executive jet that you could buy from only 2.6 million euro .
Should have taken my wife , my hobby is very cheap compared to anybody buying stuff at the show yes
Nice event though and worth going to see the B17 come in .

Cheers Mike, I have seen this one and I do appreciate the work gone into it but I need something 5 to 6k max. Something I can drive in the summer and tinker with in the winter.
