Hi All
Last month I looked at fitting a rear wing / spoiler, Phillpots Idea was tempting but wanted something discreet and subtle. Found lots of ideas looking on the net but nothing that would fit and be discreet,
I came up with the idea of fitting a retractable one.
Here is the finished boot wing / spoiler, there is just a bit of fine finishing to do but will leave that for the painter to do. I could just leave it as a manual button operation or use the sensor so it lifts at 120 km's and retracts at 40 km's. Will have a look with the oscilloscope to see if the signal can be re set to work at lower speeds

If the speed sensor output frequency is too high its pretty easy to divide it down with pretty much just one chip, use a binary counter ic with the speed frequency on the clocking input, each bit output frequency is halved and halved again if that makes sense, probably not!

You have to get the full tailgate and cut out the spoiler mounting plate, Its needed as a plug to make the mould off. All the old boot lock assy fit in the same place. I had to cut out the hinge bolts and decided to fit chrome hinges instead of messing about with the mounting bobbins.
the boot seal still has enough lip to seal on. All in all about 10 days to do.

Once you cut out the bit you want you can use it as a mould
you now have a mould to work with
This is the mould with PVA release ready to mould a fiberglass part from
Once the new part is removed and cleaned up it can be fiberglassed into the boot

The boot seal lip back in place
Just to finish with min filler to final shape
Job done, just the painter to do any final body work
