Really useful item with 3 cig lighter sockets & 2 USB sockets, nestles neatly on top of the dash, ideal for plugging in satnavs, mobile phones, GoPro's etc.
On sale Sunday 12th May from Aldi at very reasonable cost.. Hurry, limited stocks, essential for Alpine touring smile

I have a similar item it's v good but will be more useful once I move the power socket to the passenger side as I keep knocking it with my knee

My S3 centre console already had the hole for one on the passenger side (assume put in for LHD) which was taped up. I just wired in a second in parallel with the original cigarette lighter and fitted into this hole. 45 minute job and hey presto two power sources

Dammit that's a much better idea and won't leave an ugly hole.. Good call thanks

Bump!

Perfect timing again, on sale tomorrow Sun 11th May 2014.
Perfect! It's as if Aldi are marketing these in response to Longers' Eurotour dates.

Still only £3.99 ( the adaptor not the Eurotour ) wink
Essential, buy whilst stocks last.

Those units constantly draw current due to the 12v being stepped down to 5v for the USB. Therefore you may want to make sure that whatever power feed you use to the unit (either from the cig lighter socket or if wired in permanently ) isn't live when the car is left unattended. Probably won't be an issue in the summer as the car is used a lot but in the winter you could find a flat battery after a while of inactivity.

I've got the 2 USB and 2 lighter socket version on the Midget and it does look neat. Mine is wired to a permanent live feed....

I would want to check how much current all these devices draw (probably less than a piggy lighter right enough), and that the wiring is up to it.

Cheers Glen, neat solution to the multiple high tech gadget need for power. I will join the queue at my local Aldi.
.
ETA. Visited my local Aldi, after getting up at the crack of 11 o clock, and bought 3, one for me and a couple for prezzies, what an excellent adaptor and 3 year warranty. Thanks for the nudge.
