Guys, I have just spent the best £80 on my car, in the world.... ever!
My motor now has remote central locking and has made the car so much more practical for everyday use.

The system is linked to my current alarm (a Clifford Novell 2), which is a programmable unit.
The good news is that it uses the original keyfob.....button one operates the central locking
and arms the alarm whilst button 2 opens the boot.

There was no problem fitting the solenoids inside the doors, and now that the fitter has seen his first 'S', he will probably take 2 hours instead of the 3 it took him on my car.
I cannot recommend his services strongly enough. He is a mobile chap based in Cranleigh, Surrey, who has been fitting ICE, alarms/immobilisers and sat nav etc for about 5 years now.
He has worked for Maranello Concessionaires (Ferrari dealership) and is employed by a local Porsche company fitting Cat 1 stuff to modern machinery, so his credentials are all there!

If your alarm unit is unsuitable, a new brain will have to be fitted and you will be issued with a new keyfob for the central locking. Not such a neat solution as mine, but I just lucked in there, I guess. For this solution, expect to pay about £150 or so.

Of course, now you are all going to tell me that you already have R/C/L, so sorry for getting all excited over this one, but as a birthday present to myself, I was quite chuffed with it all.

Check out the website at www.gtin-car.co.uk/ (it didn't work for me just now, maybe the site is being updated), or ring him on 07939 114889 and employ this guy with confidence!
I have asked him to sort me out with new speakers all round, 6'x9's at the rear in the vertical panel. Firstly, does anyone have any recommendations for speakers? Secondly,
I hesitate at taking a jigsaw to the back panel.......I don't want to be a butcher to my
baby!!! It's just that the shallow 12cm Pioneers in the front are frankly pathetic!
All replies gratefully received.

Cheers all, chin up.

P.S. Brands Hatch, 3/4 August, Ferrari/Maserati festival, Eric Clapton and Jools H + his band,
camping and booze up on Saturday night etc etc.
Shall we????

Nice one!, glad you're happy with this, I'd quite fancy this myself, so might give this guy a call.

And from one Cancerian to another - Happy Birthday!! It's mine tomorrow!, I treated myself to my OZ alloys being re-polished, so a "blip" might have to wait a bit

As for speakers, I've just recently replaced the standard front ones with 13cm two-way Infinity's as I'd heard a lot of good things about them, they sound really good and I aim later in the year to add a larger pair of Infinity's in the rear panel like yourself.

Cheers,

Dave.

Cheers Dave, Happy Birthday to you for tomorrow, then!!!

The chap said that Infinitys were nice, so if they are available within budget I think I may plump for those.

I had my wheels done 6 months ago and it made the car look sooo much better. If you can be bothered, fit some plated or stainless wheelnuts to finish the job off nicely....

Cheers Chin up,

Might replace the wheel nuts later this year - would finish the wheels off like you said.

Cheers,

Dave.

Try the "Fusion" 6 by 9,s (fs-693) they really are very good for the money. (in fact try any of the Fusion range you won,t be dissapointed) If you know "Focal audio" these are as good but at two thirds of the price. I fitted them in my Griff and was very impressed. I used to be an ICE head and spent loads on my last installation in my Series 1 RS Turbo, but priorities change when you have a TVR, so i can thoroughly recommend the "Fusion" range. You can find the website at www.fusioncaraudio.com
