Sony HDR-AS15 action cam
Discussion
Just fitted this new action cam from Sony with an external mic at the rear number plate. It can be operated with Phone/Ipad through built in WiFi. Another feature is the steady-shot, works very well !
Short test drive last Sunday.
Ready for Spa track action ;-)

Good work Han
I'm impressed that the mic didn't pick up much wind noise even when you got up to "Han Speed" on the dual carriageway. Will you be trying it on the Aprilia as well?
And for those of you worrying about Han driving on the right hand side of the road I should perhaps point out that Han is comfortable on that side of the road. In fact, having travelled around Scotland with him I can confirm he is comfortable on the left, right and in the middle...
Not long until Spa now, looking forward to seeing you both there

Microphone is on the rear number plate ;-) Not yet, have to find a secure fixing on the Falco.I'm impressed that the mic didn't pick up much wind noise even when you got up to "Han Speed" on the dual carriageway. Will you be trying it on the Aprilia as well?

Can you post a shot of the camera and mic mounted on your car?

What about on your helmet or is the camera too bulky? Are the screen or petrol tank flat enough for a suction cup?
Camera is quite small and light 65 grams, helmet would be possible, but will find a better spot somehow. Here some pics of the fitments for Maffe :
Mic at number plate, small cable through number plate light in the boot.
Mic extension cable (5m) through rear panel under parcel shelf trim , the extra length under the seat
Fat Gecko Mini Mount : suction mount on windscreen.
Camera is delivered with waterproof casing but it doesn't allow the connection of the external mic.
Made a small ALU (not stainless) bracket which is tie-wrapped to the Mic extension cable/plug
Camera fitted on the Mic plug
