totally out of keeping with the almost "retro" look of the car, wouldn't match the rear lights or front indicators so only way would be change everything and while tou're at it loose the rubber bumper strips and .......... (imho)

!!!! Forget speed six lights on an S. they don't need it.
Yes they help the Chim golf buggies, but that because they look like mgb's, and speaking as a former Triumph owner, looking like an MG is not a good thing.
An S is an S! It doesn't need to change!
A Chim is just confused and boring, so they have to play with them.
Balls out guys and accept the fact that our cars are great as they are.

ive now owned both a 24v S and a Chim 450 so am in a good place to comment
the S was ace if somewhat uncomfy
far quicker than a standard one too
handled great.
looked lovely
boot useless when roof down
the Chim is a whole different ball game.
massively quicker
much much more comfy
handles just as well if not better
useable boot
id say a better looking car too oh and FA like an MG imo
oh yeah one other thing - boring it is not

Nowt wrong with mine, got cheap glass fronted free forms with Osram +90 bulbs and they're fine.

would it improve the looks, well imo yes it would - also the aerodynamics would be slightly improved too.
but yeah i reckon it would affect the lighting to a small degree (though there are ways of improving that)

Last year I had an invite from a PH member local to me who owns a 4.5 Chimaera.
He took me for a 30 minute blast on very damp country roads, not only does the Chim have so much pulling power it was so planted, I couldn't belive the corner speeds we were achieving also the acceleration from 50pmh onwards was incredible and very comfortable too.
If I had the finances then I would love to own a Chim but with the value of my S2 around £3-3500 and no money left after my divorce I will continue to enjoy my S2 for what it is, and that's a wonderful small British sports car.

Have driven my sons Chimera a bit recently and I can understand what your saying but it was a joy getting back in the S, a far more raw and engaging driving experience. Last year I had an invite from a PH member local to me who owns a 4.5 Chimaera.

I've owned both and they are totally different cars. Yes, Chim is more refined/comfortable, better as a practical choice as an everyday TVR and more powerful but...

ive heard this arguement before - but tbh in this case i feel raw simply = a lack of refinement and this perhaps fools you into finding it more engagingRob.
I certainly dont find the S has any extra feel (either seat of the pants or steering) over a Chim. I find both of them to be a delight to hustle with decent feel over what the car is doing.
