What do you do with Left Leg Between Gearchanges?

Just before I get the seats out and recarpet my S, It has occurred to me that a foot rest or some such thing would be good to rest my left foot on between gear changes.
At the moment I tuck my foot under the clutch pedal, not the best as a quick withdrawl some times gets stuck and bent knee with thigh resting on transmission tunnel, means interferring with steering wheel. Im not a tall person and my foot just has no where to brace against.
Anyone else found an answer?
Or am I missing something?

I rest my foot under the pedal - quite comfy but not there too long on A roads! Not sure if there would be room for a footrest next to the clutch pedal.

Edit. I would advise getting a hands-free set-up, you can't go using your mobile like that whilst driving these days.

Very good, I did expect some .. less than serious answers, but there is not a lot of room, to the side of the clutch pedal, I was thinking about fabricating a small footrest on the transmission tunnel. Maybe with the new seats it wont be so much of an issue, with improved lateral support.

I now have to plan a footrest in the passenger footwell, OH has tried the new seats, very impressed but as she is not the tallest person, requires a brace point during. . . . Spirited driving by me.

Oh and I dont wear stilettos when driving I kick them off and drive bear foot... Grrrrrrrrrrr.
